Sapper

Named Sapper, this build carries a name heavy with honor, memory, and sacrifice. At first glance, it’s a rugged, purposeful machine with a striking presence — but for those who understand the story behind the name, it holds profound meaning. “Sapper” pays tribute to the Sapper Six — six soldiers from the 713th Combat Engineer Company, based in Valparaiso, Indiana — who were killed in action during separate engagements in Afghanistan in 2012. Their loss stands as the single most devastating in the history of the Indiana National Guard. On January 6, 2012, four members of the unit were killed when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) while moving with a convoy. Later that year, on July 16, 2012, two more soldiers were lost when their vehicle was struck by rocket-propelled grenades during routine operations. For those who served beside them, including Dillon Partin — BSM Indiana Chapter Lead and a comrade in the 713th at the time — the legacy of the Sapper Six is deeply personal. This build is more than paint and metal; it’s a rolling memorial and a constant reminder of service, sacrifice, and the bonds of brotherhood. This tribute would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors who shared in this mission of remembrance: Hot Shots Secret High Performance Additives and Oils, Exergy Performance, Firepunk Diesel, Stainless Diesel, Malone Tuning, Hoosier Tire, Mishimoto, Safecraft, Molnar, Air Dog, Fluid Damper, and Kirkey. Sapper stands not just as a vehicle, but as a testament — to courage in the face of danger, to lives given in service to others, and to the enduring spirit of those who will never be forgotten.
